USC and UCLA have great climates too and they bring in the fans.

People in San Diego watch professional baseball for 3+ hours 81 games per year. An extra hour for 6 to 7 football game isn't going to make a difference. SDSU's problem has been its athletic department and university administration. Pac-12 membership would do miracles for their athletics programs. If SDSU would've joined the Pac-12 (8 or 10) 30-40 years ago, they would have an athletics program like USC, UCLA, and Arizona.

SDSU is like comparing Virginia Tech and East Carolina. 30 years ago, our football programs were on the same level. Tech joined the Big East and ACC while ECU played in CUSA and now in the AAC. No way was the ACC going to take another North Carolina school. That's how the Pac-12 has felt about San Diego State. SDSU, like ECU, is geographically located in the wrong place. SDSU has yet to convince the Pac-12 that they would make a good addition. That's were their administration and athletics department has failed over the past few decades.
