Almost all the backups (plus lots of team alumni) were there along with many of their families. Only a few guys didn't go and I suspect it was only a financial issue for them.

When football, basketball or baseball make post-season tournaments, the whole team travels on the school's dime. But when wrestling (and I assume track and swimming) members make post-season tournaments, only the starting qualifiers go, plus maybe a few extra guys as training partners. Everyone else has to pay their own way. And the NCAA tournament is not cheap trip.

It says a lot about the camaraderie of this team that all of the team members (who could afford it) were there every day and at both social events. To me, that bodes well for keeping everybody, assuming that VT makes a smart decision on Dresser's replacement. These young guys really like Robie, Zadick and St. John.
