Good question. I am taking for self-defense only.


.....not that a lot of tournament stuff wouldn't work in the street but it may not stress certain details that you don't have to consider in a tournament match on mats with rules. Again, no disrespect to any school or art.....I just have very limited time.

I am new to BJJ so I can't comment on other BJJ schools but I know for a fact that a Relson Gracie school will be committed to the self-defense aspect of it; it is my understanding that it is even the primary focus. Hence, why it is best for me personally.
I know some schools are focussed on the sport aspect of it primarily which is fine if that is your goal. Also, I watched Mr. Relson's interviews and was very impressed with his attitude and philosophy.
