So you're counting on Frank Beamer and Bud Foster type of loyalty?

It's been my experience that such loyalty is quite uncommon. That is especially true when millions of dollars, sometimes millions of dollars per year, are involved.

Perhaps you are lacking in experience, but such figures are often quite difficult for the parties involved to turn down.

Thus, I do not expect such loyalty to VT Athletics moving forward. I fully expect VT to be able to offer similar compensation packages to those that SEC and B1G schools would be able to provide. If we cannot, then we better prepare accordingly in our revenue sport programs.

You remind me of some of the folks I know back in my hometown in Southwest Virginia. They rarely left the country and loyalty to their "setting" was all they ever knew. That's not the way things work for most of the rest of world. Perhaps you'll learn something about that one day.
