Can you DVR things as a 'cord cutter'? Or, better asked, I'm betting


that there is a way to set up a mcgyver'd DVR....but I probably don't have the skill to do that.

We watch so many things through the DVR instead of live, the cost to subscribe to Dish still seems worth it to us.

And yeah, we could watch shows other than sports via on demand methods, but you can't skip commercials there, right?

So the ability to easily DVR and to skip commercials is I guess what I'm really paying for.
