ACC really needs to push hard to get 8 teams. The byes...

really give teams a huge advantage. That's good for VT because we earned so many. But I think it hurts the competitive nature of the sport.

Imagine if you are Nick Reenan and you just had a competitive match with Epperly a couple weeks ago. Now, you have to win your quarterfinal, and then face a fresh Epp just 2 hours later.

Look at the scoring. Let's say Mastriani wins by Major dec in the Semifinal. He'll rack up 7 points (2nd or better), 1 point advancement, 1 point for win after bye, and 1 for MD. That's 10 points (I think) for beating a guy he should, AND someone who already wrestled 2 hours earlier.

In my opinion, having 8 competitive teams would take away these byes and provide more drama and fairness to the tournament.
