From that you can work out the cross divison rivals of the last three, but the first for are obvious.

My thinking is that the top row has football fan bases.
The bottom row has good "name" programs that casual fans are aware of. Good TV is good fans in the stands. That is the reason that The SEC king in football and we rule hoops. Speaking of hoops, add another all sports but football and go to these divisions:

VT Pitt Lou Cuse BC ND Mia UConn
UVA Duke UNC Wake NCST GT FSU Clem

That is old ACC and old Big East. As a Hokie I would rather play the ACC old guard twice each year but tradition is king in the big picture. I picked UConn because I belive that a ND type football arrangement would work well for both parties. If ND choose to join in football then UConn would come in with them.
