I agree with you 100%.
A month ago I thought we might end up 6th place or so when we were 15-1. When the preseason polls picked us 12th, I thought Kenny would get us as high as 8th. I was just simply stating that we ended up 12th after all that happened during this "unusual" season that had a 15 game winning streak, a #15 national ranking, and a current 11 game losing streak.
I still believe that Kenny can turn things around. Our program experienced the same thing this season that it has experienced the past decade, Genesis Parker's transfer to Cincinnati hurt us, but so did Brielle Blaire's ( a top 100 national recruit) transfer to Texas Tech. Alexis Lloyd (who was a top 100 national recruit) transferred to USC but never lived up to her expectations. Jaiden McCoy may have helped but we may really never know. I remember Breanna Brown doing the same thing by ditching us and staying close to her California home and going to Oregon State (where she is averaging 9 pts. and 6 rebounds at #8/#10 OSU right now). Injuries and transfer problems also created problems. Regan Magarity's injury hurt us last season and she was limited during her freshman season. Sidney Cook had to sit a season too. It's just been a long time since we had a full bench. Hopefully Kenny and his staff will load us up with ACC talent and we can finally have a deep front court. Our lack of front court depth has hurt us during this 11 game losing streak. Losing Sidney Cook last night was a big blow. Miami's coach even acknowledged that last night. I agree that our team is playing hard. They are tired. Their confidence is missing during parts of each game. I hope Kenny/staff and the returning players learn a lot from this season and things finally start moving in the right direction next season.
