That Dresser was Epperly's and several of CHS wrestlers coach at the time. It is suspected that Dresser knew of the shady crap Brands and Co was pulling with the recruits and decided to try and help VT out by both resisting the whole ordeal as some of the recruits coach and offering to come and coach at VT. He did and was able to keep some of the wrestlers and build from there. I think a couple transferred to other schools as well. As you said, the circumstances suggest that the recruits and Brands asked if the wrestlers would be released should Brands leave with full knowledge that he was leaving in a year. It was a bait and switch..I am sure Weaver had no idea that Brands was scheming to leave the following year. We are not talking a few recruits following Brands we are talking every quality wrestler in the program going West.

My suspicions, and they are suspicions, is that Dresser has hated Brands ever since.because it was a very crappy thing to do and it would ultimately hurt the sport of wrestling. I also suspect that is why Dresser found an opportunity to call Brands an orange last year. In some small way, I also think Dresser relishes the thought of going to ISU and crushing Brands at Iowa in Iowa. Brands is all about Brands; Dresser is all about keeping the sport alive and growing.
