Liberty had a head start, years ago they developed video classes by mail.

I think it was back in the 80's Liberty had a program where people could take classes from other locations and they would mail videos and other materials which would then be mailed back. I think that got shut down in the 90's when they hit hard financial times. But it was the foundation that they built an online program around. They already had the experience they just needed to transition from videos to online classes so they had a nice head start. I just wonder if they will be able to maintain their online numbers as others get into that format. But at least for now it is very profitable for them, as is evident from their campus construction.
Right now most don't take Liberty seriously, but they have high aspirations, and we all know it takes a lot of money to build a football program - which they seem to have, and are willing to spend it on football.
It will be interesting to see if they can recruit at a higher level now that they are moving to FBS as an independent.
