The $225,000/yr included the $75,000 retention bonus but there's no mention


If the bonus was annual. If ISU is paying him $300,000 guaranteed for 7 years that's a 100% raise over his base salary or 33% raise over his salary including bonus (which may not be annual). Plus, who knows if there's a performance or retention bonus at ISU.
I don't fault Dresser for taking the job & any Hokie who does needs to take their blinders off. There are other good places in the country & Dresser does have ties to that school/state.
I also don't fault Whit Babcock for his departure. He's got his job to do as well. VT doesn't have the resources to keep up with all the other schools in all the other sports. I just hope we can keep the wrestling program progressing. I really think VT has a chance to displace some of the other wrestling powerhouses & become a perennial national contender. Not everyone wants to wrestle in the middle of a cornfield. Go Hokies!
