Your source may not be wrong but.....
there is a very strong probability that either your source or you are missing context and further background. Given the resurrection of the wrestling program from near death, Dresser stepping in to the void, the upgrades around the program(SETC, Moss events, VT's rising profile), the program status as VT sport most likely to realistically compete for a national championship in near term, etc.. It is unlikely, Babcock, Sands or several high profile donors would allow realistic contract terms to be a deciding factor and Dresser is clearly smart enough consider all factors(not just money) in any decision. The best deals are ones where both sides win or at least feel like they did and that is seldom accomplished just with money.
