Isn't football the hard part?

They can either stay in the Big South, for all but football, or join one of the other conferences that does not include football, like the Atlantic Sun. I doubt they will have trouble doing either.

For scheduling football, they will have a tough time getting home games. I think the NCAA requires 5 on average, or something like that, per year. But they should be able to get a few decent teams to come there with 2 for 1 deals. And they should be able to get 1 for 1s with UMass and New Mexico State easily. They are in the same boat as Liberty, looking for home games. They can also have a "home" game with someone like Maryland or WVU at FedEx field. I think that would count wrt the NCAA requirements.

Also, we might find ourselves along with ODU and UVa, on their home schedule pretty soon. It would look pretty bad on our part to shun Liberty, especially when we scheduled an at-ODU game (as part of a 2-1 deal) right after they moved up.

Otherwise, they may have to get out the checkbook to make it happen but they have the money, I think.
