VT acted above board after "The Brands Incident."

Not only did Tom Brands conspire with Iowa to take the job over a year before they fired their coach, but he intentionally red-shirted those guys @VT with the sole intention to take them to Iowa with all 4 years of eligibility remaining.

He was also recruiting for Iowa while on the VT payroll for a year because he knew he was leaving.

Not only was he leaving VT, his intention was to completely cripple VT wrestling by leaving us without two recruiting classes: the "Iowa 4" and the next recruiting class.

When Jim Weaver decided to save the program, he offered the "Iowa 4" a very generous offer, especially considering what Brands had done: wrestle at VT for one year & be granted a full release, or go to Iowa and sit for a year. VT had already invested a year in their development & education, so wrestling for one out of 2 years while Dresser recruited to replace them was extremely fair!

Heck, seem to recall those Brands recruited (for Iowa) his last year, and weren't enrolled, were given a full release.
