Legal issues and ESPN will push WVU over the top

I believe that the fans on this site may not be giving the anti-trust concerns in conference consolidation enough weight. I can see a situation where the P4 collude (for lack of a better term) to determine where the B12 schools go. It is a risk for a former P5 school to be left out in the cold, except for Iowa State :). In exchange for taking WVU, the ACC may get other considerations.

Ultimately, ESPN will determine the money, and I believe that WVU is perceived to be a good, national property. It also happens to introduce some excellent regional rivalries (Pitt, VT, Louisville). With the new cable netword, the business case for WVU is likely positive. In this case I do not believe that state population statistics will have any impact on the decision.
