Golf, hiking, fishing, hunting, boating (New River, Claytor Lake) pretty much the same things as any other non-university, smaller town. Just depends on what you like.

Take the above things and combine that with what VT brings - at the cost of living in Blacksburg - and IMHO you hit the jackpot.
