I accept the fact that I can only afford so much.

And because of that, I may not get the seats I once got or the parking I once had. But that is my decision based on my situation. Same thing applies here in my opinion. If I gave $50K and 20 years later I get "bumped" because of some folks who gave $60K, then it is my decision to stay where I am or give more.

This post wants to compare us to Alabama and OSU...I would just like to be on the same playing field as Clemson or NC State!!! We are getting killed by these other schools in the money department! Hokie Club revenue has been flat for the last couple of decades but some people expect us to field competitive teams with these "peers". If we are going to be "peers" in athletics then we need to match our competitors in the financial support arena as well.

As for promises made 10 and 20 years ago - they were incorrectly made but not many people were expecting costs to be where they are today.

I am sorry a handful of folks feel this way but one thing is for sure - either change with the times and pay some more to play or accept a lower level of performance and mediocre teams. Virginia Tech fans want to be winners...unfortunately to do so requires a tough financial decision in some cases.
