I agree it is unclear whether the ACC or Pac-12 would take


just the OK schools. Although I can see a stronger argument for the Pac-12 to do it than the ACC if you make the assumption that the Original Pac-8 will become the West Division. There are reports out there that OU has a strong following in the DFW area. It isn't as strong as Texas, but it may enough for the Pac-12 to add the OK schools and force Texas onto its own island.

If Texas (and Texas Tech) isn't willing to join the (now) Pac-14, then the conference may be willing to add 2 other public TX schools (i.e. Houston and UTSA). If the Pac-12 ended up adding both OK schools, Houston, and UTSA, then it could limit Texas's options when you consider that Baylor, TCU, Texas Tech, SMU, Rice, and UTEP are the only instate dance partners that Texas could bring with them to the ACC, Big Ten, or SEC.
