This board scrolls slow. Good place for a rant, or lecture. Re: Last night

I've read some of the meaningless drivel that people have posted about last night's game. Not all, but some, I don't have the time or desire. Yeah, it sucked. It was horrible. It was embarrassing. But, get over it.

Yet, I woke up this morning, and the first thing I did was put on my VT class ring, before taking my phone off of the charger, and checking my email, text messages, or any meaningless social media updates.

I'm a Hokie.

I said in another post, college athletics is like marriage vows, for better or worse. If you can't handle a kick in the nuts like this, please, God, don't ever get married.

To most of the harshest critics of Kenny, over one game, or a couple, we're in a rough stretch, but if we would beat UConn tomorrow (hypothetically), you all would want to give him a 20 year extension as the highest paid coach in the NCAA, over one game.

There are good times, and there are bad times. Deal with it.

But, I've been around for a while, I'm an '85 Hokie. I've been through Dooley, Beamer, Moir, Frankie Allen, Bill Foster, Bonnie, Beth, et al.

As to last night, let me clue you in, especially the Millenials that might be among the crowd. This generation quits. Once the game is over, it's over, and they ought to put a rule in to just shut a game down, when the score gets beyond a certain point, IMHO.

I'm not criticizing our ladies, but society. When the outcome has been decided, the losing side shuts down.

All you have to do is look over on the men's side. Men's games like UNC-NCSU, Pitt-L'ville (just to cherry pick a couple of ACC games), or USF and UConn, when it is over, pride is set aside, and the losing team packs up and is ready to go home.

I'm not saying it is right, or it is wrong. It is society. Cut your losses and move on.

One thing I will say is, we are in great hands with Justin Fuente on the football side. Been down, many times, and came back. Hopefully, that will spread.

Buzz has had the guys fight back. Life is always an uphill battle.

Sure, it sucked to have UVA hand us our hat (most of you don't know what that means, but that's beside the point, Google it), but get over it.

We have another big game coming up, and another after that. Every game is a big game.

Every day is a big day.
