No, the fielder is showing indifference to the runner going to first and


makes his goal to prevent the lead runner at 2nd from advancing. The fielder's choice was to allow the bunter 1st base and prevent the lead runner from advancing. Even if it's a mental error, i.e. he should have checked two, froze the runner, and then gone to one, a player really doesn't get an error unless they make a physical error (fail to field the ball cleanly or make an errant throw).
