I used to put my early GE pre-boom box (big radio) in my '66 Impala

It fit perfectly centered on top of the dash laying on its side. Powered by 8 D batteries, the radio could blast out above the drone over the add-on under-dash anemic air conditioner and the amazing 283 V-8.

I loved that Impala wagon. Jet black, American Tourister Naugahyde red interior. Wide bench row seats; perfect for dates. 12 mpg. Kick-ass passing gear.
