Funny they don't go after the always underperforming program of NC State, or the academic challenges at UNC,

First, there is a perception that Boston College program is shambles. That is wrong, they are fully funded in the bubble of private school and their approach is offer opportunities to play at the highest level. SO they are simply offering 29 sports, and not worrying as much as winning. I do think, that they need to narrow the offerings and work more on performance and competitiveness rather than that breath of offerings.

They are really solid in Hockey and lots of program support, both mens and women/s And being a private school they can recruit nationally.

However, they do have some disavantages. WHile they have a great budget, they have to compete in a big city, where there are lots of alternatives for entertainment dollars. between the Red Sox, Patriots, bruins and Celtcs, there are some great sport venues and if not you can find lots of great pubs to hang. Not lot of that with boston college.

Just feel they need a REAL aggressive marketing/business guy as athletic director. current guy, a little too lay back.

It will be something to see if Syracuse starts to revitalize with the new AD from ESPN. He knows marketing. if Syracuse and Pitt start really jumping, Boston college is going to have too.
