Josh Wyland


I've seen him wrestle a lot. Solid, tough, scrappy wrestler from Benedictine Prep. He has fallen just below the national radar so far, but he does have his senior season to push higher. Finished 7th at Prep Nationals last year. He lost by decision to Brent Moore at Ironman 2015. Here's a recap through his junior year from the Richmond Times All-Metro team page:

School: Benedictine
Year: Junior
The skinny: A three-time VISAA state champion and Prep All-American, Wyland finished seventh at Prep Nationals. He is a John Carroll champion, Skyline Elite Opener champion and LCA champion. He was named first team All-Metro last year and registered a season record of 31-7. He has made a verbal commitment to Old Dominion.
