I know we play Pitt but I think the admin wants us way up in the northeast regularly. Pitt is nearly the midwest.
We could swap Pitt and UL, but then all of our northeast schools are in one division: no-go.

There are too many interlocking pieces here. consider our restrictions:
1. Miami and FSU must be in separate divisions because every school needs that Florida trip.
2. UNC/NCSU, UVa/VT, FSU/Miami, Clemson/GT (Clemson wants GA recruits), UNC/UVa (yeah, I know), must be played every year.
3. Clemson and FSU also want to play every year for attendance.
4. best to have two NC schools in each division.

it's very difficult to change the ACC divisions without breaking some rule.
