The source of that information was a motion put into court by Maryland

regarding the fact that they felt they should be able to leave the ACC without penalty because the ACC was attempting to build an illegal Monopoly.

Their claim was that the ACC had ND coming in full time, and had worked it out with Michigan, Louisville, Penn State, Northwestern and Purdue but that they wanted Indiana instead of Purdue and that was the only sticking point.

That being said, Indiana obviously shared it with the B1G commish, and Ohio State was probably also approached and I'd guess they did the same. It was obviously hush hush so that the ACC schools were unaware of it.

This is the ONLY situation that could explain 3 things that happened.

1- The ACC Commish said that had Maryland come to him first, they would NEVER have considered the move. That had to involve something that never happened.

2- The B1G took half a decade to bring in Penn State, and a couple of years to vet and bring in Nebraska. But Maryland applied out of the blue, and was a full member in 6 days. There had to be a reason for that much of a fast track. A major reason.

3- It took about 2 days for the ACC to admit Louisville. That means something was going on there before the Maryland announcement.

It was a legal motion that was written in the Washington Post.
