If UConn decides to leave the AAC, then why not do the same thing

that UMass did and become a FBS Independent? It gives the school more flexibility in scheduling home games (even against FCS opponents) that are more appealing to its fanbase as well as take advantage of "money games" (i.e. away games at SEC schools late in the season).
