Me thinks it's a matter of being compelled to expand by other forces.

I think there will be a break away type of "thing" in the somewhat near future. These P65 schools have already worked together to create a Playoff structure and to start PAYING PLAYERS and the results speak for themselves. It's quite clear they are tired of sharing that money with the Radfords and Coastal Carolinas of the world too. And it's also quite clear that the governance currently provided by the NCAA is an embarrassment...to say the least.

Thus, I think there will be some working together in order to find landing spots for MOST, if not all, of the existing P65 schools. There will probably be a handful of additional schools thrown into the mix as well. This new P4 league "thing" will want to keep a large presence in the NE, so UCONN will find a home for instance. So I there will be something like 65-80 schools and those schools will each be members of either the Pac12, B1G, SEC, or ACC.

To get there, these leagues will each add one or two schools that they would not otherwise wish to add. The SEC could do worse than to enter into two new states and to pick up an additional Texas program. The ACC could do worse than to add WVU.

This seems a bit out there admittedly, but if you look at the trend these leagues are beginning to truly distance themselves from everyone else. And I do feel they are beginning to realize there's more money in it for everyone the more they work together.
