It may have been BACK THEN. Somewhat irrelevant to now.


Back then, the Pac10 had more leverage than it does now. Today, their much anticipated network is quite profitable, but nothing like what the two dominant conferences have. Their network won't be the driver for their decisions moving forward. Futhermore, the Pac12 is now playing catch up. It would be ridiculous for them to not take Texas because of the LHN today. Texas' tier 1 and tier 2 product is worth as much as perhaps any program in the country. And as I've stated, many of Texas' tier 3 away games would find their way onto the Pac12Network.


The question about Texas being added to the Pac12, or any other league for that matter, is not IF they would bring in a bunch of extra money, but HOW MUCH extra money they would bring in.
