I agree.


Rice and Tulane are great universities and fit well academically, but they both need work with football and basketball. They would be just like Wake Forest. I would only want that in some combination with Texas and others.

UConn and BYU are the two best remaining of the G5 that would fit the ACC. I've suggested before taking UConn and BYU as football only if we are planning for ND to remain independent for the next 20 years. BYU is too far away for all sports, but 4 ACC football teams can travel out there each year with no difficulty. They have a strong football culture.

I think with the Big XII in such a state of flux the ACC is wanting to watch what happens there before doing anything.
