Cal Berkeley Athletics back in financial trouble.

Apparently the school assumed $400+ million in debt to renovate the football stadium and provide earthquake protection for it. That will cause any department financial problems. They should have secured donor funding for most of that ahead of time. Surely Cal Berkeley has some big dollar boosters.

They almost lost the baseball team 6 years ago. UVA played them in Omaha, and they were worried that would be their last game. But Stanford of all options helped bail out their baseball program then. This is a sad story. Sandy Barbour left a big mess at California apparently before jetting off to Penn State.
