Pro golf watch 8/11 - 8/14

Missed cuts last week for both PGA tour Hokies leave no room for error with only two more tournaments left to secure a spot in the FedEx Cup playoffs and a Tour card for next season. Wagner is currently right on the bubble in 125th, while BDJ fell back to 150th. Both need to take advantage of a weaker field (relatively speaking) this week at the John Deere Classic. BDJ could definitely use at least a top 10 finish.

Drew Weaver continues to have a hot hand with his best finish of the season on the WCT last week, a solo 10th. Pushes him up to 97th on the moneylist. Still a ways to go to get into that top 75, but another top 10 this week in Missouri will put him right in the mix. He has made the cut in his last 6 starts, which includes 3 top 25 finishes. He is 1st on the WCT in GIR %, 8th in driving accuracy, and 6th in Par 3 scoring. It's unfortunate he had a rough start to the season which limited his chances throughout most of the season, because his stats suggest he'd be right in the mix for a Tour card had he played a full compliment of events. But, still 3 more tournaments to get himself into the WCT finals, and from there its a clean slate for everyone with 25 more PGA Tour cards up for grabs.

Blake Redmond is back in action on the Adams Pro Tour in Kansas this week. Unfortunately he hasn't been able to finish in the money in his 5 starts on the Mackenzie Tour this year.

Go Hokies!
