I would think surrender is their last option. At this point, they have a

viable contract that can make them additional cash flow by adding members and that runs another 8 years or so. A lot can happen or change within that timeframe. There just needs to be quite a bit of communication between the B12 and the media folks to avoid an all out soured relationship. If they can have a little patience, most of the current members would most likely end up with a safe landing.
