You are comparing UConn with 4 private schools

If UConn is going to be compared to anything, then I would think a more accurate comparison would be other state schools. I found the NCAA attendance report online that goes back to the early 2000s. Other than UConn's information, I haven't looked at the other data. Since you referenced GT, UNC, and UVA, I have included their data. I decided just for kicks to include ECU's too.

UConn (Avg)
2015: 28,224
2014: 27,461
2013: 30,932
2012: 34,672
2011: 36,668

GT
2015: 50,707
2014: 48,519
2013: 49,077
2012: 43,955
2011: 48,232

UNC
2015: 49,643
2014: 54,667
2013: 51,500
2012: 50,286
2011: 56,000

UVA
2015: 43,285
2014: 39,320
2013: 46,279
2012: 46,650
2011: 47,940

ECU: (Just for kicks)
2015: 43,274
2014: 44,786
2013: 43,985
2012: 47,013
2011: 50,012

If UConn joined the ACC, then there is a good chance it would be the lowest attendance of all the public schools. FWIW BC averaged more than UConn from 2012-2015. Whereas Miami and Syracuse averaged more than UConn from 2011-2015. UConn did average more than Duke and Wake from 2011-2015. One thing I did find interesting was that in 2014 UConn only beat Duke and Wake by an average of about 200 or so.

UConn may see an increase in attendance if it joined the ACC. However, I don't think it would as big of a spike as you may to catch up and/or overtake any of the schools you mentioned. If UConn wants to see that kind of spike, then the Big Ten is probably its best chance given the number of alumni living around the NYC metro area.
