UConn won the Big East in football in 2010.
That's ahead of two of the three recent teams that the ACC added from the Big East. I'm confident that UConn can hold its own with football in the ACC with the right coaching and recruiting.
However, with a linear channel football itself isn't the only thing to consider. The ACC continues to want to promote its brand in the New England region and ultimately its network. There are approx 15 million people in that region and only 1 team in the P5 conferences. I believe that to be a big opportunity for the ACC to tap into, and it doesn't have to be with just football. The ACC basketball product is the best in the business, and I'd like to see the ACC form a partnership with Hockey East in that region. The inclusion of UConn would help significantly with that. If other sports besides football get the ACC brand into that region, that's fine. [Post edited by HOO86 at 07/28/2016 6:27PM]
