Notre Dame obviously has a very carefully constructed schedule. It is no accident that they play four games in the western/SW US, where something like a 1/3+ of the US resides. I was surprised when a Notre Dame law grad buddy told me about 1/3 of alumni are from the west/southwest. Shockingly, 1/3 of the Irish games are dedicated to that region. It's a painfully obvious strategy, and I do not often dismiss that kind of transparent logic.

Eight ACC games, plus Navy, plus a midwest game, and how many are left for the West? One, maybe two?

I won't even argue this point. When you say abandoning those games (and the West) will have no effect, I have no way to prove or disprove it. Let's just say I think playing one western game (USC) per year, is a negative.

And consider this: the ACC has six schools within a 200 mile radius. I'm not sure the Irish are looking for that much exposure in the mid-Atlantic. Even if the Irish pull 1/3 of their students from the East coast, they are oversaturating that market with a full ACC schedule.

So, do not respond to me. Instead, attack the Notre Dame scheduling philosophy. Just make a bold statement that it is irrelevant where and who they play.
