Texas has a big enough ego that it could be on board with being

on an island if the ACC expands to 16 and Notre Dame is the 15th full member. Since Texas would be the only ACC member in that part of the country, then Texas could enjoy having a monopoly on both the state and region of the US. Plus, if Texas is able to negotiate its own version of the "Notre Dame deal" as a full member and Texas believes it got a "better" deal than what Notre Dame got as a partial member, then that will only stroke Texas's ego that much more.
