I'm not sure why your Watch ESPN was challenging

Typically, Watch ESPN has better than average petrformance. I tested video quality on that platform during the soccer world cup when the US was playing during the daytime and it held up exceptionally well.

Typically when something goes wrong on the streaming side it is because there is a lot of viewership or there may be a number of devices in your home that may be pulling bandwidth.
