Here's my takes. I know you guys have been waiting.

1) IF this thing does get us in the ballpark with the SEC and B1G in 2019, then I'm happy with it. And that's a big IF. Anyhow, the ACC payouts should be within $5 million per year per school. The ACC has some football powers to offer and it is top rate when it comes to other sports, especially mens basketball.

2) It sounds like my predictions about this thing up until 2019 are being proven true. I think ACC schools are going to earn that $3 million each and little to nothing more until then. ESPN was paying that money anyhow, so they are allowing this OTT "network" to do it's thing. At least non-revs at ACC schools will get the exposure. And at least fans can watch. It isn't horrible. This is similar to what the Pac12 will be earning per school from its network. However, ESPN is getting an absolute bargain these next 3 seasons.

3) One must question why this is taking so long. Is it truly to buy back Raycom content? Wow. What an absolute disaster?

4) VT and the other ACC schools are there to stay. If this thing does indeed get VT within a few million dollars of media payout from B1G and SEC schools, then I'm happy about it. All things being equal, the ACC is a great home for VT.

5) Heads should roll in Greensboro for this taking 8 or 9 years too long, that's especially true if the hold up is due to Raycom. That original horrible contract from 2009 is going to end up costing each ACC school tens of millions of dollars. Think about that. What could VT Athletics have done with an extra $25 million? Consider how many donors and how many years it's going to take to make up for that.

Let's hope this thing delivers in 2019, I'm cautiously optimistic it will. And I will happily be forking out the 10 bones or so each month beginning this fall.
