I just can't get behind any alignment of more than 11 that would do away w/


Divisions. I cannot accept the slightest chance that 3 or 4 teams could go undefeated or 11-1 with losses only to each other and somehow two of those teams play for a title while the other two are left out.

The Playoffs should exclude any team that doesn't win their conference, and the CCG should be played between two division champions who beat out the other teams in their division. I don't mind tiebreakers for teams in a division because at least those teams would have played all the same teams within the division. If there are no divisions, then the teams with the best records could have achieved their records with vastly different schedules which would be entirely incomparable. That simply should not be allowed to happen.

If there are 4 conferences split, each split into divisions, that makes a de facto 8 team playoff among teams who all won their division, and we don't have to add any games to the season to get there.
