Turner

Interesting to hear about Turner Sports. Them wanting more sports is a change from several years ago. When the Time Warner and AOL mergers came about, there was a drastic cut of sports from TBS's slew of networks, including an entire network - CNNSI. The mantra was that TNT and TBS Superstation were entertainment networks first and foremost, that happened to show occasional sports. They had to sell themselves that way in order to achieve broad distribution. Any big encroachment of sports might "re-label" them as sports oriented networks. They shed the NFL Sunday Night half season package, the old Goodwill Games, and many of the Braves games shifted to Turner South. For a while, it was just the NBA and the infrequent PGA Championship or something else random. It's been nice to see them come back to sports in a big way with the NCAA tournament. Hope they continue to expand their sports offerings going forward.
