Connecticut hasn't been close to VA's population in a long time....


Virginia has 8.4 million compared to Connecticut's 3.59 million population. Connecticut isn't losing people. Their population slightly increased the past 5 years. Maybe you were thinking about Massachusetts? Massachusetts used to have a larger population than Virginia. Massachusetts also grew. Are they growing as fast as the southern and western states? No, but they aren't losing people by the thousands every year. Due to immigration, states like Illinois, New York, and New Jersey are expecting great population growth by 2050. The problem with their growth will be that most won't follow American football, college or pros. The Big 10, and all the other conferences, MAY have to make soccer a bigger priority in the future?

As for West Virginia, they lost 9,000 people the past 5 years. That's 1,800 people per year since 2010. Nebraska has 52,000 more residents than West Virginia. They won a few football national championships despite their small population. Will the Big Ten kick Nebraska out soon?
