Take out the FCS, and it's basically the ACC and WVU.
VMI, Richmond, and William & Mary are in there because of being in the Southern Conference for a long time. That's kind of ancient history as VT hasn't been playing those much anymore. UVA still plays them, but I haven't seen VT play them much recently. William and Mary a few years ago, but not the others. UVA played VMI in 2013, and the game was awful. Need to stop that. At least William and Mary and Richmond can compete somewhat.
The rest are all ACC with the exception of West Virginia. And as discussed here there is cause for the ACC to add WVU at some point. I would think given that long series of 51 games, VT might be interested in sponsoring that at some point.
