GT, Clem,FSU,UNC,or UVA leaves the ACC. Then B1G turns us down.


FSU or Clemson would leave the ACC for either the SEC or B1G right now. However, there's rules in place making offers unlikely.

GT, UNC, and UVA "somewhat" considered the B1G recently. And the B1G has publicly stated its desire to move south.

Anyhow, I think GT is the weakspot here. The B1G could very well make another move at them.

We shall see how this shakes out with the ACC "network" and determine how massive the revenue gap is between the two leagues.

If it's in the $15-$20 million per year range, and it very well might be, then GT will consider the B1G. How could they not? After the lawyers do work and GT wiggles out of that GOR, they would likely have any losses made up for within 5 years.

From there, the ACC schools left behind would be damaged considerably. While GT fans are few and far between, a B1G presence in Atlanta would be a dagger in the heart for the ACC.

At that point, I would EXPECT VT to start looking for options. I would be livid if they didn't.

I feel the B1G would be our preferred landing spot, but the B1G may not want us if they could already get UVA and/orUNC. We could offer them quite a bit though. so who knows?

I think the SEC would take us all day in any such scenario. If the B1G got bigger, the SEC would want to, and VT is their premo #15.
