^This guy gets its!!

Any member institutions in the ACC bear the same responsibilities - field athletic programs in good standing with the governing bodies (NCAA/ACC), period.

Kicking Wake (a charter member with a long history of good standing where it matters) out of the ACC because one of the newest member institution's FANS are unhappy with their own institution's financial situation is ridiculous.

Get ready for the most incredible litigation in the history of sports. Wake not being a "championship contender" in any particular sport creates zero legitimate ground for dismissal.

The outcome of Wake suing the ACC (and the parties involved, *cough* VT under the leadership of AD chuckd4vt and President Big Crumpy *cough*) for dismissal would bankrupt the conference and any instigators. Whoa - that short-sightedness kinda backfired, huh? Winning championships is not a requirement for continued membership (which wake has their fair share of anyway).

Ironic that the reoccurring theme here that some fans feel VT has to support Wake is based on an embarassing misunderstanding of the basic concept of conference affiliations. Wake and the ACC go way back; their relationship is in every sense stronger that that of the ACC and VT. While this nonsense will never gain ground, the consequences far outweigh any gains. The heart of the ACC is in NC and the other schools will look out for Wake. Luckily VT's real admin is smart enough to know that being on the right side of a damning lawsuit trumps the complete institutional suicide of such ludicrous ideas. Best not to create enemies in such uncertain times.

100% agree with Maroon Doom and crabcake (I was blasted for inquiring why VT fans
