Yes below the New Year's Six.


Below the NY6, Notre Dame is considered an ACC bowl team if they qualify for a bowl. They are part of the same selection process as ACC teams. They go to an ACC bowl game as the ACC team, and the ND gets half the bowl payout with the ACC getting the other half. It's exactly like any other ACC team.

At the NY6 level and CFP, Notre Dame has their own contract with the CFP separate from the ACC if they qualify for one of the top 12 spots. Last year they did and went to the Fiesta Bowl.
