Most of the "data" you collecgted is grounded in one and only one thin
Wake was in a stable, well run and profitable conference for 50+ years, while Tech was lost in the conference wilderness. All those years Tech was a distant 2nd/3rd not because we were an unworthy institution, but because our administration -- rightly in my opinion -- didn't want to get on board with the increased commercialization of collegiate sports and decided to leave the Southern Conference.
You may argue that was a self-inflicted wound, but to point to a bunch of data points that have it's roots in that one thing (conference affiliation) is pretty weak sauce, IMO.
Now as for VT getting uppity, come talk to me when Clemson faces the institutional barriers (athletically and academically) for 50 years, is poorly treated by conference mates again and again, and then has the AD of the school in question participate in the jobbing of one of your teams (in a sport that already struggles to be successful).
I'm not saying your wrong to feel the way you do, but I am saying you don't know jack about VT's experience. You might empathize with us a little more if you did.
