Boren is easy to please
The Big 12 is starting to look like the old SWC. The addition of Houston would make 6 Texas schools counting themselves of the old SWC that Texas has recycled back through the Big 12. Giving back what now amounts to Major status, that being P5, Status they lost when the SWC crumbled. SMU and Rice are all that now remain of the old SWC outside P5 status. Those Texas SWC schools outside of Texas, Arkansas & Texas A&M is what killed the SWC. They had badly losing seasons year after year and could not draw 15,000 to their home games. That killed the SWC. They may put the dagger in the Big 12 if Texas & Oklahoma don't do it first. I would bet on the latter though.
I know this sounds hypocritical coming from an SEC fan. However TCU and Baylor have been cheating big time recruiting wise for sometime to match about any SEC program. TCU has been getting 4 Star recruits in SEC territory over SEC programs in some instances. That should never happen. No other Big 12 program does it. Not even Texas & Oklahoma. Of course great coaches are necessary to coach up great talent even when it is bought. TCU & Baylor lately have had that necessary combination. Though Baylor has recently hanged themselves and in the process lost the head coach. TCU is a head coach from being probably permanently lousy as well. These programs are bad filler for any conference. It is past proven.
