WRT ice hockey, I wasn't just considering the NHL.


I was also considering the KHL and the other European leagues. Whereas baseball really only has MLB, the Japanese League, and a few leagues in Latin America. The reason I was looking at it from a global scale is because it isn't that uncommon for someone from the US to go overseas to play a sport (i.e. basketball, soccer, water polo, etc.) professionally for one reason or another.
