If I'm a B1G or SEC fan, I would take the time now to enjoy
the spoils and riches that their respective networks produce today. I think the B1G and SEC will always have a leg up in revenue, regardless of a network mainly because both of your conferences are filled with rabid fans from large State flagship and landgrant programs. But the conference network model as we know it today is going to be drastically different in the coming years. The ACCN that everyone is predicting this summer will not be as fruitful as the SECN or B1GN, but it will probably place the ACC 3rd in revenue when all is said and done.
There is so much talk that both the ACC and Big XII are going to dismantle, but I feel the ACC will be safe even after 2027 when the GORs is up. That's because UNC, Duke and UVa have no desire move elsewhere. That being the case, VT, Wake and NCSU will stand pat to remain in the ACC with their brothers. And all the talk about Clemson... well, Clemson is as old guard as the Carolina schools. FSU likes to threat, but UF likes (actually loves) the idea that they are the ONLY SEC school in that state and will probably continue to block FSU admittance. Louisville is lucky to have landed where they are and no one except for the Big XII would want them so they're staying. GT, like FSU, will not break into the SEC without UGa's say. And GT is too far away from the B1G schools to allow for their precious contiguous state "rule."
So the only programs that really have nothing preventing them from leaving are BC, Syracuse and Pitt. Those 3 could leave but would the B1G want them?
As for the Big XII. That conference goes the way of Texas. And Texas does what Texas wants. UT has successfully chased away Coloado, Nebraska, aTm and Mizzou. Actually, they may have even chased away your Hogs from the SWC days. Now UT is making OU edgy.
Say what you will about the ACC. The UMCP departure caught a lot if us by surprise, but I don't know of any programs south of the Mason-Dixon line that feel the same way as UMCP's administration.
Lastly. Tech will be fine no matter what.
