There is little market for tier-3 ACC football games and those not involving a title contender. The ACC has one national draw in Florida State. Clemson is the next best and they are a middle of the pack SEC team in terms of draw unless they are in the top 5. The Big 12 conference has two national draws and their tv contract was negotiated when they also had A&M and Nebraska. The ACC has always been a basketball conference. There were no football powers out there for them to get unless you consider Miami and VT to be ones. At the heart of it, I think you projecting your anger of VT's position (i.e., not in SEC or B1G making big $) out at Swofford. He/ACC have made some mistakes but even if they could go back and change things it wouldn't make much of a difference. And don't talk about a channel -- that is about tier-3 football games and there is little market for that in the ACC. You've even admitted as much. So I don't know why it keeps coming up as some big pot of gold we are missing out on. There seems to be some belief by many that baseball games and basketball/football re-runs are big factors in a conference channel.
